I have various sets of photos edited to put in posts and keep forgetting the actual posting part. As it’s quite late and I need to clean litterboxes before I go to bed, they’ll have to continue to wait, but here are a few standalone cat pics so I don’t entirely forget how to do this.
Warm lap AND sunlight. What more could any kitty want?
I hope you already did your counting, because I can’t help but spoil it with my delight at achieving this: I got ALL the cats in one photo! Lifetime achievement unlocked!
(My joy was somewhat inhibited by the horrid “update” to Photos that happened in the last couple of days, removing most of the useful features and replacing them with crummy filters, but I’m still happy about it.)
As you might imagine, treats were involved.
I really needed to see some kitty pictures today. And I thought, I have some of those!
This is possibly the best kitty yinyang I have ever photographed. Not that that’s a particularly high bar, but still.
Adorable diagonal of kittykins in the new(ish) cat tree. Meringue seems to have misplaced her nose.
CMY’s lovely furry tummy.
Rhombus on the living room cat tree, looking utterly content up there.
Licoris on the oldest piano. From a few months back, but she’s probably underrepresented here.
The temperature, that’s what. Ugh. I could barely stand having my laptop on my lap sometimes. That’s my excuse, anyway.
So, here are some miscellaneous things I’ve been up to, mostly involving cats.
I played with the owner of this little tortie paw.
I saw this neat sunset from my driveway (I edited it to make it more like what my eyes saw, which was mostly red-orange rather than yellow).
I restarted a sweater that had languished for about two and a half years, with predictable result:
I made MAPLE FUDGE earlier this week. (It helps to have a spouse who buys maple syrup by the gallon.) My teeth will probably fall out, and I won’t care because I don’t need teeth to eat this.
I spent some time in the catio when it was cool enough. Walnut came out while I was out there for the first time.
I got a purple laptop case which stank to me but was apparently irresistible to Triquet. (Dark spots are his drool.)
I saw a rather grown-up deer in back.
And, of course, I watched cats nap.
That’s a bowl of diced shrimp and scallops, exclusively for the cats. This is after a fair bit of it had been doled out, too. Stop giving me that look. It was all freezer burnt, okay? We weren’t going to eat it anyway. They don’t care about the freezer burn, and are utterly delighted.
And so there’s a picture of an actual kitty in this post, I give you Licoris peeking.
She got some of the yummy seafood earlier this evening. (We keep the bowl in the fridge and every now and again I grab a smallish handful for the cats.) Made her very happy. That bit of furniture has worked out very well for her — she gets to see us easily, gets lots of incidental cuddles as we go by, has a tower she can defend at need, and gets her snacks and initial meals there. (I take the bowl out after she’s done eating so she has more space to lie down.) It’s really been a treat for us to have our little tortie out where we can see her, since she spent most of the last two years in the guest room.
